Continuing Ministry Education Units (CMEUs) are required to ensure that IABC counselors remain firmly rooted in the sufficiency of Scripture and continue to develop their counseling skills under the supremacy of Christ.

To maintain an active certification with IABC, counselors are required to complete six (6) CMEUs annually. The CMEU requirement is designed to strengthen counselors in their personal sanctification and ministry effectiveness, ensuring that all certified counselors remain faithful to a biblical framework.

If you're applying for certification and already enrolled with an IABC training center, please direct your inquiries to your current IABC mentor as they will oversee and will fully be involved in your certification process from start to finish.

You can train online or at a training center. We ask that you do your ‘due diligence’ and chose a mentor/training center because that person will work with you for many months. There are typically three stages.

3- Supervised Counseling Hours

In most cases, state licensure restricts a counselor’s freedom to minister biblically due to contractual obligations rooted in secular standards. As biblical counselors, we believe withholding biblical truth due to state regulations is inconsistent with the faithful care of souls.

Licensed Professional Counselors (LPCs) and other state-licensed professionals are encouraged to begin with an IABC-certified training center to understand the theological distinctions of biblical counseling. Because counseling is theological, IABC may limit certification for licensed professionals due to ethical constraints imposed by governing bodies.

However, those who complete training may submit an appeal for consideration. Appeals are reviewed case-by-case by IABC Membership Services to ensure adherence to Scripture’s sufficiency and Supremacy in counseling.

Yes, all applicants must have a Training Center Director (TCD) to mentor them through the application process. IABC does not offer an independent self-study or self-application option.

No, IABC does not administer exams. Exams are the responsibility of each training center. Applicants should contact their Training Center Director for all exam-related matters.

No, IABC does not proctor or oversee exams. If you need assistance, please reach out directly to your training center.

We appreciate your background and experience in biblical counseling. While we value your prior education and experience, our certification standards require that all applicants, regardless of their background, complete all three phases of the IABC Certification process. This ensures that all certified counselors meet the high standards set by the International Association of Biblical Counselors.

Additionally, please note that IABC certification must be completed through an IABC Certified Training Center. This ensures that the training aligns with our organization's principles and standards.

• If you are an existing member who's trying to login for the first time, please take note that not all members are provided with login credentials. Logins are provided to members who currently have active trainings with IABC. If you don't have one, you don't need to worry as it is not required in order to update your dues. Please refer to the next question on how to update your dues without logging in.

Don't panic. There are four possible reasons why you received this email:

1. Refund Processing – You are receiving this email because we needed to process a refund due to overcharges. If this applies to you, please expect the refund in your account within the following weeks.

2. Account Updates – You are receiving this email because we are updating your account due to a migration or internal process. If so, you don’t need to take any further action—we are handling it for you.

3. Voluntary Cancellation – You may have decided to step away from IABC. While we would love for you to stay, we understand and we pray for your continued path.

4. System Error – This may have been an accidental cancellation by the system. If you believe that the message was a mistake, and you don't fall in any of the categories above, feel free to contact our Support team.

• Click 'Billing Info' at the top-right corner of the page.
• You can update your card details or add a card next to 'Saved Credit Cards'
• Next to 'Active Subscriptions', you can either update your payment method or cancel your subscription based on your membership by clicking the ⋯ icon next it.

To update your profile picture:

1. Go to https://www.iabc.net/settings/account

2. Scroll down to Profile Settings

3. Click Change Avatar and upload your new photo

4. After uploading, make sure to click Save at the top right corner of the page
